April 2023

I first met Nicole while playing a ‘front porch concert’ with my buds in Portland. Tyrone Hendrix mentioned that the bassist for Panic At The Disco was going to swing by and would I mind if she sat in and used my bass, etc…. Of course, I didn’t (I never do) and I was curious. I didn’t know anything about the band except that they were a big pop band. Honestly, I expected that the bassist for PATD would be fine but would have to keep to their comfort zone.

Nicole swung in, hung for quite a while until she was asked to come up and play a few. When asked what she wanted to play, she just said, “whatever you want. I’m down.”. She proceeded to slay. Through a collection of old soul tunes and a bit of newer R&B cuts, she had feel for days, great tone and immediately sounded like she had been playing in the band for years.

On top of that, she was incredibly sweet, humble and unassuming. I was an immediate fan! Her Instagram feed and YouTube and website are loaded with great clips. Check her out!
