Manou Gallo is a West African bassist/vocalist who previously toured with a group called Zap Mama (I was a MASSIVE fan of this group when I was in college…. and beyond). She has since moved on to forge a career as an independent artist, releasing a number of albums under her own name.

Manou is (far too) widely unknown in the US but phew…. what a talent! Badass bassist, wonderful vocalist and phenomenal song writer. Definitely a musician to get to know!
