Jeff Andrews is, in my opinion, one of the most under recognized bassists on the planet. While those who worked with him, studied under him or had heard him play certainly new, I’m always astounded m=by how few music lovers or bassists I know are aware of this man. Jeff was simply one of the best and was one of the major players on the NY scene for decades.
Often heard touring with Mike Stern, Jeff had a command of his instrument and an overall musicality that is undeniable. The consummate bass player, a lyrical soloist and a profoundly capable session bassist. Jeff had it all and sadly left us all to soon at age 59.
