Daric blows me away. He has become more widely known for his educational website ‘Bass Nation’ but has long been respected in the world of gospel music. Primarily self-taught, Daric learned through doing and listening and has developed phenomenal ‘ears’ as a result but has also since really delved into the world of harmonic understanding and represents the best of both worlds, in my mind. Daric has an incredible feel and can lay it down with the best of them as well as having the chops to blast when it’s time. Aside from all of that, he is a wonderful educator and somebody you should definitely check out. I love the way he talks about music and how he perceives what he’s doing on the instrument. He’s great at giving you that ‘birds eye view’ of what’s going through his head when he plays.
