I first heard Carles alongside Paco De Lucia. Often hailed as the first Flamenco bassist, his beautifully melodic and hyper rhythmic playing style has been a listening staple of mine for quite some time and can be heard in a myriad of contexts… be it Chick Corea, Nguyen Le, Paco or his own groups, Carles is an astounding talent and well worth a listen (and deeper dive on your preferred platform).
