1. What I collect

A handful of services help me run the site, and each one holds a slice of your information. Memberspace stores your account info — name, email, billing details — and handles login. Stripe processes payments; I never see card numbers. Vimeo serves the video library and tracks watch progress for the player. Bunny CDN serves audio and download files. Webflow hosts the pages. Circle hosts the community and stores any posts or DMs you create there.

2. How it’s used

To deliver lessons, process payments, surface your watch progress, run the community, and — through Memberspace — send the very occasional note when something new lands. That's the whole list.

3. What I don’t do

I don't sell member data. I don't run advertising trackers. I don't build profiles for marketers. The third-party tools above are the only ones that touch your data, and they only get what they need to do their job.

4. Your data, your call

You can request a copy of your account data, or delete your account entirely, anytime — just email me. Memberspace's account modal also lets you see and update what they hold for you.

5. Cookies

Essential cookies only — session and authentication, so the site knows you're logged in. No analytics, no advertising trackers, no cross-site tracking.

My iOS & Mac Apps

This section covers: BassEducation Metronome, BassEducation Tuner, BassEducation Ear Trainer, BassEducation Composer, and BassEducation Fretboard.

My apps do not collect, store, or share any personal data. They have no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no ads, and they make no network connections. All of your settings and practice data are stored only on your device. I have no access to any information about you or your use of the apps.

Microphone (BassEducation Tuner): the Tuner uses your device’s microphone solely for real-time pitch detection. Audio is processed on your device and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted anywhere.

ManiFest: Gig & Tour Planner

ManiFest works differently from my other apps, and this section says how.

ManiFest saves your gig information to the internet so your band can see it, so unlike the apps above it does collect and store data.

What it stores.

Your account: an account identifier created when you sign in with Apple, and your name if Apple passes it along. I never receive your email address — the app doesn’t ask Apple for it.

What you enter: dates, venues, schedules, hotels, travel, set lists, notes, guest lists, and the people you add to a gig — including any phone numbers or contact details you type in for bandmates, promoters or venue staff.

What you upload: charts and documents you add or scan with the camera.

Purchases: a record that the one-time unlock was bought, so it can be restored on your other devices.

Where it’s stored. On Google Firebase, on servers in the United States. I use it for the database, sign-in, file storage and the server code behind sharing. I don’t use any other third-party service.

Who can see it. Anyone you send a share link to. Those links need no account and no app — that’s the point of them — so treat a link like the information itself. You can revoke a link at any time, and making a new one kills the old one. People you invite as editors can see and change the book you invited them to. As the operator I have technical access to what’s stored, and I don’t look at it except when you ask me to help with a problem.

How long it’s kept. Your own information is kept until you delete it or delete your account. Documents you publish to a share link expire on their own: 30 days after the gig’s date, or 30 days after the last date of a tour. A daily job removes expired copies and their files.

Deleting it. Account deletion is in the app, under Settings. It deletes your account, the bands you own and everything in them — dates, documents, files and share links. Bands you only help edit are handed on to another editor rather than deleted, so you leaving doesn’t destroy someone else’s book.

What it doesn’t do. No analytics, no tracking, no advertising, no data brokers. Nothing about your band is sold or shared with anyone for marketing. Viewing a shared gig sheet doesn’t create an account or a profile for the person viewing it.

Camera (ManiFest): used only when you scan a chart or document. The scan becomes a PDF in your band’s files; it isn’t used for anything else.
